George E. Bushnell correspondence on clandestine bodies, 1952-1961
Scope and Contents
This folder contains corrrespondence between Bushnell and others about and with clandestine groups. The folder mentions several African American clandestine organizations with which Bushnell discusses with George W. Crawford, Sovereign Grand Commander, United Supreme Council, Prince Hall Affiliation, Northern Jurisdiction. It also contains correspondence on irregular groups in Europe. Of particular interest is a letter from Ray V. Denslow outlining clandestine groups in Michigan in 1955, the majority of which are non-Prince Hall African American organizations.
