Copies of 5 letters pertaining to the Frank J. Herron jurisprudence case which concerned a violation of the jurisdictional rights of the Grand Consistory of Louisiana. The letter dated August 3, 1868 references the remaining copies as enclosures and they include earlier correspondence between James Batchelor, Grand Chancellor, Grand Consistory of Louisiana and the Commander in Chief, Chicago Consistory, 32°, James B. Scot, Worshipful Master of Pelican Chapter of Rose Croix, 18°, and Samuel Todd, Grand Commander in Chief, Grand Consistory of Louisiana. A printed circular letter or protest "to Whom it may Concern" from Batchelor instructing Scottish Rite bodies in Southern Jurisdiction to bar visits from Herron from all Rite meetings and a response from the Chicago Consistory.
