She wrote about the daily housework, such as washing, ironing, cleaning, details about the weather, descriptions of berrying, canning, pickling, gardening, and making the house comfortable for Mr. Morton. Morton also described her active participation in the Order of Eastern Star and the Grange (Patrons of Husbandry).
