Scope and Contents
Manuscript diary of Mrs. Florence M. Flieler, Grand Chief of the Pythian Sisters. The diary describes Mrs. Flieler's first five months in office after her installation as Grand Chief of the Pythian Sisters in 1925. It includes descriptions of visits with other Pythian Sisters in various towns in California, gifts received, and personal accounts of degrees given, initiating candidates, socializing, chicken dinners, impressions of hosting Pythian Sisters and Brothers, description of degree work that wasn't performed successfully, list of names and addresses of California contacts in the Pythian Sisters and name of Supreme Chief (Lucy Munson), some accounting for travel expenses, vacations described for 1925 to 1940, and some birthdays listed. Newspaper article were pasted in the front of diary entitled, "Grand Chief Honored at Christmas Party by Pythian Sisters."
