Scope and Contents

Manuscript letter "To the Captains or next commanding Officers of the Several Military Companys in the first Regiment in the Colony of Connecticut, Greeting" calling the militia of this colony to equip themselves with arms for relief of Ft. Edwards, (now West Virginia) which is in danger of being attacked by the French. It is dated Hartford, 13 of August 1757 and signed by George Wyllys Lt. Col. of first Regiment.
