Shrine certificate for Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children located in Newington, Connecticut. Frances Griswold Thomason is listed as a "Voluntary Permanent Subscriber." F. S. Griswold (of Wethersfield, Conn.) was a long-time subscriber to this hospital. Certificate has image of a child on crutches walking down the path to the Shrine hospital

Certificate consists of a design of Egyptian hieroglyphics, gods, goddesses, and pharoahs on a sepia tone background. This is a very early Shrine certificate, as the Imperial Grand Council was organized in 1878.
