Correspondence from Walter A. Stevens to Josiah Drummond, 1868 August 2
Scope and Contents
Two Letters dated August 6, 1868 from Walter A. Stevens, Deputy for Illinois, to Josiah Drummond pertaining to the Frank J. Herron case which concerned a violation of the jurisdictional rights of the Grand Consistory of Louisiana. Stevens references correspondence marked "1-2-3-4-5" and "W" as enclosures. These letters are described in A1992-099-037 and A1992-099-039 respectively. Stevens also states his displeasure that the public circular of protest was sent out without waiting for a reply from the Chicago Consistory.
