The building was established in 1924 for aged Pythians to rest to their declining years, with room for 60 guests and was an investment of over $350,00 in 1924. The building is brick with a garden in the foreground and a white covered walkway.
Caricature of Knights of Pythias Lodge, No. 378, postcard, 1907-1914
The postcard is a collage composed of photographs of men's heads placed on drawings of bodies, set in front of a building that bears a sign for Samuel Read Lodge, K.P. No. 378, Castle Hall. Above the door is a sign that reads "Ye who enter here leave all hope behind". The men are depicted in caricature as sitting on barrels, carrying letters, carrying boxes, and wearing silly outfits. At the bottom right, in small letters, a caption reads "The Ginger Bunch".
