Scope and Contents

The postcard depicts a color version of a print of the Boston Massacre, with the caption "The first life sacrificed for an independent America was that of Crispus Attucks in the Boston Massacre, March 5, 1770." The reverse includes information about African Lodge, No. 459 and the establishment of Prince Hall Masons. It continues, "To perpetuate the memory of this, our invaluable heritage, and honor the labor and accomplishments of Prince Hall and his followers who founded Masonry among negreos in the U.S.A., starting August 13, 1950 and every 10 years thereafter Prince Hall Masons will make a Pilgrimage to Boston, Mass., A. L. 4950, A.D. 1950."
