Biographical / Historical
The Supreme Council for the Ancient annd Accepted Scottish Rite was officially formed in the United States in 1801. The Northern Masonic Jursidiction was formed in 1867, covering 15 states. The Supreme Council for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction holds Annual Meetings, oversees the activities of the Valleys within their jurisdiction, and maintains relations with international and domestic bodies.
In the 1980s, the Supreme Council became interested in creating video media. These records were largely taped events, while also producing some pre-recorded material, mostly directed at Masons. During this time, they also received videotapes from various Valleys, international Masonic bodies, and other Freemasonry-affiliated organizations. These videos also included recorded events, as well as a substantial presence of pre-recorded material, some of which was intended for a non-Masonic audience in addition to Masons. The Supreme Council also collected televsision segments relation to Freemasonry, which included some anti-Masonic material.
