Biographical / Historical
During World War I, Alfred Irwin Sharp (1876-1959), of London, was sent to France and frequently visited Bordeau. After the war, he represented several American firms in this town. A Mason, he became a member of the historic lodge, L'Anglaise, No. 204, and served as its Master. L'Anglaise was the Mother Lodge of all Freemasonry in the south of France. During this stay, he received a number of documents from the librarian of the lodge and these documents form what is now called the Sharp documents. This collection was acquired by the Supreme Council, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, in 1952.
