Gilman postcard and souvenir photograph collection, 1893-1907
Scope and Contents
Collection about 1,500 postcards and souvenir photographs of America including greeting cards for Easter and Christmas, views of rural and urban America (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, etc.), Europe, and South America. The majority of these postcards are from the "Golden Era" of postcard collecting about 1893-1907. They are mostly undivided back postcards with image and message on the front of the card and addressee on the back of the card. Most of the postcards are color photolithographs with some "Real" black and white photographs. It includes 15 packets of miniatures photographs.
