Scope and Contents
Shipping papers for William Washburn, Master of Brig. Zenobia, for April 23, 1855, bound from Boston, MA to Savannah, GA. The papers are from Sawyer and Keyes' Shipping Office, on 188 Commercial St. in Boston, Mass. They list 10 seaman, their stations, and monthly wages. On the back there is the Government Regulation of Seamen in the Merchants' Service Act dated January 4, 1790 with an addition dated and approved July 20, 1840. The papers are gray with black lettering and an engraving of eagle on the back and an engraving of ship and wharf on shipping side.
