John North Egyptian Masonic papers, 1939-1960
Scope and Contents
Collection of Masonic summons, programs, correspondence, receipts, and miscellaneous letters from: Nubia Lodge, No. 511, E.C., Albert Edward Lodge, No. 707, S.C., Alexandria, Egypt, Zetland Royal Arch Chapter, No. 1157 E.C., Alexandria, Egypt, United Service Lodge of Alexandria, No. 4571, E.C., Grand Lodge of Scotland, District of Egypt. There are some manuscript annotations throughout the collection by John North. There is correspondence addressed to John North and receipts from various Masonic lodges from John North. Many of the programs contain signatures of other Masons from Egyptian lodges. Of particular note is the program of 1950 which records that in 1950 John North was "Right Worshipful Master" of the Albert Edward Lodge. Also of note is a receipt indicating that in 1939 John North paid for his "Mark Master" degree to the Albert Edward Lodge
