Scope and Contents

Program of the golden anniversary year inaugural ball at Boumi Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., which took place at The Lyric on Thursday evening, February 8, 1934. The program includes a schedule of events for the evening and a picture of and letter from the Potentate, Allan Cleveland. Also included are lists of members of the golden anniversary committee, the official divan for 1934, the appointed officers for 1934, the uniformed units, such as the Boumi Temple band, the patrol, the drum corps, the chanters, and the Scimeter luncheon club. There is also a list of committees and their members, including auditing, automobile, auto registration, charity and welfare, directions of publicity, entertainment, hospitality, medical board, membership, order and safety, parade and caravan, past dues, reception, shriners' hospitals for crippled children, transportation, visitors to the sick, eastern shore shrine club, harford-cecil shrine club, red fez club of Boumi Temple, Frederick, MD., and western shore shrine club. At the back of the program is a letter written by Allan Cleveland, the Potentate, to President Franklin Roosevelt, a brief paragraph about the usage of the American flag, and the Shriner's oath of allegiance.
