Autograph letter signed by Richard Eddy to Excelsior Lodge, Independent Order of Good Templars. The letter concerns the submission of Excelsior's by-laws which were approved except for Article 4. Richard Eddy signs this letter with his title, G. W. C. T. (Grand Worthy Chief Templar). The letter is written on letterhead with ornate purple imprint "Independent Order of Good Templars."

Richard Eddy (1828-1906) was an Univeralist minister stationed at churches throughout New England. He was a reknowned temperance movement advocate.
