Franklin Royal Arch Chapter, No. 4, Book of Marks, 1919-1922
Scope and Contents
This Masonic Book of Marks was used at Franklin Royal Arch Chapter, No. 4, in Norwich, Connecticut, used between 1919-1922. It includes 200 pages of marks created by the Mark Masons of this chapter. The marks consist of inked drawings inside the circle of each printed keystone with the name, description, and some dates on each mark. The marks at times include individual's initials, as well as military or occupational designs. There is an 8 page manuscript index by name in the front of the book.
Some notable marks include: p. 16, bowling pins; p. 34, watch with initials; p. 47, military insignia; p. 48; p. 106, sheaf of wheat; p. 123, military insignia; p. 148, cow.
