Biographical / Historical
The Thompson-Folger Council was an early Scottish Rite group that claimed to descend from Joseph Cerneau's organization of 1807. It was a competing organization to the Supreme Council, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, which was headed by J. J. J. Gourgas in the last decade of the 19th century. They drew membership from the same Blue Lodges, and the Thompson-Folger Council showed great growth and prosperity through the last decade of the 19th century.
