Biographical / Historical

The Ancient and Illustrious Order of Knights of Malta (KOM) considers itself the oldest fraternal order in existence, tracing its origin back to A.D. 1048. The present order was introduced to the U.S. in 1870. Membership requirements include being a white male of a Protestant denomination. KOM is not to be confused with the Masonic group called the Order of Knights of Malta.
