Scope and Contents
Print (photolithograph) of the Concord bridge with British soldiers marching on the morning of April 19, 1775. On this bridge Paul Revere crossed and gave warning of the advancing troops, here the Minute men met the redcoats. This is a print made from a painting by Falter which was part of a series of paintings called From Sea to Shining Sea. Falter was commissioned to do this series as a part of the 1976 Bicentennial and was advised by James Shenton, professor of American history at Columbia University, on the details of dress, craft and culture in America
