Scope and Contents

An Antimasonic address, delivered on March 26, 1833 and initially presented by a Committee of the Massachusetts Legislature. It was adopted and referred to the Antimasonic State Convention of 1833 and attested to by secretaries of the convention: B.F. Hallett, H. Atwill, D. Henshaw, and A. Walker.

Begins: "The following Address was first presented by a Committee, at a meeting of citizens and members of the Legislature, held in Boston the 26th of March, 1833. It was adopted, and referred to the Antimasonic State Convention, which was to assemble in Boston, the 11th September. That body received and adopted it unanimously, and referred it to the State Committee, to publish it in connexion [sic] with the proceedings of the convention. In compliance with the vote of the convention, it is now presented for the candid consideration of the independent citizens of Massachusetts."

At end: "Resolution of the Antimasonic State Convention, dated Boston 13 Sept. 1833, signed B.F. Hallett, H. Atwill, D. Henshaw, and A. Walker, Secretaries of the A[ntimasonic] S[tate] Convention for 1833."
