29th Biennial Assembly of the International Conference of Grand Chapters, Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliation, souvenir program, 1972

This program was owned by Lorraine B. Harris, P. G. L. (Past Grand Lecturer?) of Washington State and contains some notes throughout the program and on the back page. The program contains a welcome message from President Richard Nixon, Congressman Walter E. Fauntroy, and D.C. Mayor Walter E. Washington. The program is filled with photographs and member lists from every participating Grand Chapter, local chapters, as well as advertisments of Black businesses and other supporting organizations such as the National Alliance of Postal and Federal Employees and the Commission for Racial Justice of the United Church of Christ. There are two histories of the Queen Esther Chapter No. 1, the first Black Eastern Star chapter in D.C., and of the International Conference itself. The conference was hosted by and within the jurisdiction of the Georgiana Thomas Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star of the District of Columbia.
