Content Description
Includes the original leatherbound circular announcing the formation of the first Supreme Council, located at Charleston, South Carolina. This is the foundation document of the Ancient and Accepted (Scottish) Rite. This copy signed by John Mitchell (Sovereign Grand Commander) and signed and sealed by Secretary General Abraham Alexander. Also includes a note signed by M. H. Lichliter, dated 1951, that the contents were photocopied for Sovereign Grand Commander Melvin Johnson to share to the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council for Italy. The positive and negative photostat copies of note and pages of the bound circular are placed behind the original documents.
