Scope and Contents

Collection includes certificates and diplomas that are mounted on plaques, encased in leather and velvet folios, previously framed, and loose. Also includes announcement poster, personalized notecards for David A. Glattly, and a photograph of a group of people. The photograph is from 1990s, while the bulk of the collection is from 2017-2021, while Glattly was Sovereign Grand Commander.

Records include a letter of congratulations fromn the Supremo Consejo de Mexico on the Statement of Unity between United Supreme Councils and Supreme Councils, 2 diplomas issued by the Supremo Consejo de Brasil, a proclaimation from the Supreme Council of Poland, a One-Hundredth Anniversary booklet issued by the Valley of Schenectady, and a membership card for Marriott hotels.

Abstract Melvin Maynard Johnson (1871-1957) was a prominent and influential Freemason, lawyer and academic. Johnson was born on May 11, 1871, in Waltham Massachusetts. He attended Tufts College and Boston University School of Law (BUSL). Following a successful career as an attorney, he returned to BUSL as a professor in 1918. Abstract Leon Martin Abbott (1867-1932) was a prominent and influential Freemason, lawyer, and philanthropist. He was born on August 28, 1867, to Joseph Brown Abbott (1835-1892) and Lydia Cole Martin (1838-1893). Educated in Keene, New Hampshire, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1891.
