MA 006. York Rite certificates

The certificate is written in red ink with red Royal Arch Masonic imagery drawn along the sides of the parchment.

Includes certificates, photographs, programs, invitations, ephemera, and newspaper relating to Masonic activities of the Meade Family. The bulk of the collection relates to Jesse Meade.

A Master Mason certificate issued by Phoenix Lodge, No. 96 to Sidney B. Watkins from Champlain Chapter, No. 25, and dated 1878 April 2. A photograph of Watkins is attached to the certificate. The full color certificate is adorned with biblical, angelic, and masonic imagery.

Royal Arch Mason certificate issued to Atwood J. Cobb from St. John's Chapter, Dexter, Maine and dated 26 December 1868. Red wax seal and ribbon attached on left side. Engraved image on certificate includes two sets of Doric columns.

Royal Arch Masonry Certificate for Leopold J. Constantine from St. Croix Royal Arch Chapter in Maine. The writing is bordered by a design, the middle of the top has image of the sun, on either side of which are some Masonic tools. Two columns on either side support a broken arch. On the left, separated from the design, is affixed a red colored seal.

The certificate has three figures seated under a canopy with Masonic tools in front of them.

A dimit (withdrawal of membership) issued by California Chapter, No. 5 (San Francisco, California), to Holmes Samuel Chipman and dated October 3, 1871.
