Charter issued by the Grand Lodge of New York to Aurora Lodge, 1827 June 7
A charter issued by the Grand Lodge of New York to Aurora Lodge (Windham, N.Y.) and dated June 7, 1827. Organized just prior to the height of the Anti-Masonic Movement, the lodge did not survive a year. It would be succeeded by Oasis Lodge, No. 119, which was organized in Prattsville, N.Y., on June 5 1849.

Reading of the original charter 459, 1958
A 1958 printed transcription and facsimile of the 1784 charter issued by the Grand Lodge of England to African Lodge, No. 459, the first African American or Prince Hall Masonic lodge in America. The document is hand-signed by Grand Master James R. Leseuer, M.D., the forty-sixth Grand Master of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of Massachusetts.

McLaughlin signature on right hand side of certificate. Design includes symbols of Faith, Charity, and Hope surrounding a sphere, all-seeing eye, tessalated floor, square and compass, and plumb.
