Master Mason certificate designed and drawn by Penniman, engraved by Newcomb. Certificate issued to John McLaughlin of the Penobscot Lodge by Grand Lodge of Maine. McLaughlin signature on right hand side of certificate. Design includes symbols of Faith, Charity, and Hope surrounding a sphere, all-seeing eye, tessalated floor, square and compass, and plumb.

Master Mason manuscript certificate with grisaille watercolor by unidentified artist. Certificate issued to Jacob Rich of the Independence Lodge, No. 76, Independence, Missouri by the Grand Lodge of Missouri. Watercolor includes an arrangement of Masonic symbols probably based on Jeremy Cross' work including all-seeing eye, sun, moon, star, clasped hands, three pillars, coffin, beehive and more.
