Master Mason certificate issued to Thomas Hawkins of Montmouth (now Monmouth) County, England. Certificate is from the Lodge of St. John, under the title of the Children of Mars and Neptune. Certificate is in French and English. One of the signers is DeGrasse-Tilly (1765-1845). The design of the pen-and-ink drawing has the two columns for Joachim and Boaz, the square and compass, and many other Masonic symbols.
