Scope and Contents
A Supreme Council, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, published copy of the Southern Jurisdiction's Articles of Confederation, dated June 10, 1875. In this document, the Supreme Council, Southern Jurisdiction, proposes the Articles of Confederation, a mode . . . for the satisfactory resolution of questions of legitimacy and the settlement of feuds and schisms within the world Scottish Rite bodies. The articles were unanimously approved by the Southern Jurisdiction and submitted to its Sister Councils for their approval at the Lausanne Congress of 1875, an historic meeting of eleven Supreme Councils to plan an international union and organization.
