Note from Jean Marc Gourgas to his brother Jean Jacques Joseph Gourgas Concerning two silver serving plates given to him by his 4 Godmothers: Marie Achar, Madelaine and Jeanne Achar, Martin Achar, Reneee Souchay and Jean Achar. May 7, 1791
I received from my Father Six hundred forty-six Florins two sols and six deniers in silver of Geneva representing the earnings from two silver serving plates belonging to my brother Jeanot. They were sold today to Birot, the silversmith. They weigh forty-nine ounces and seventeen deniers of which I promise to account for to my said brother and to pay him an interest of five percent yearly.
