Scope and Contents
Folder 3: Correspondence [51 letters] from various Cerneau bodies, bulk to Wheeler Cable, first Grand Secretary General of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons as organized by Joseph Cerneau, and in later correspondence, Sovereign Grand Commander. Bulk of letters are from the Grand Orient of New York and reflect business matters including requests for copy of Constitution, conferring the 33 degree on various members, selection of Deputy Inspectors, editing Proclamation, references to amendments and establishing a new Constitution. Reference is made of tensions with the "Northern Jurisdiction people" and their attempt to stop the formation of new consistories by the Cerneau based group. Folder includes empty envelope with names of correspondents listed.
