Letter from President Harry S. Truman to Melvin M. Johnson, 1947 April 16
Scope and Contents
In this letter, Truman alludes to Johnson’s “Milwaukee conversation,” the conference where Johnson supported Truman’s presidency. Truman also writes that he shares Johnson’s opinion of the Shrine and comments on the membership of Frank S. Land, a friend of Truman and the founder of DeMolay. The President expresses interest in becoming an honorary member of the Supreme Council, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction.
