Hello, Just Got Back, 1919 United States Gift of Glenn R. Kurzenknabe

The Jewish Welfare Board, one of several groups charged with helping boost morale and provide recreation for soldiers during World War I, gave servicemen who were coming back from Europe postcards they could send home to let their families know they had arrived in the United States. On this card, Charles Kurzenknabe (1888-1962), who had served as an Army musician, wrote a note to his father in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: "On my way to Camp Dix. C. E. K."
