Biographical / Historical
Engraved portrait of William L. Sweet, 33°, honorary member of Supreme Council, A.A.S.R., Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, Rhode Island. Birth date is August 29, 1868. Death date is February 4, 1949. He was born in Providence, R.I. and after working at the Providence Line of steamships and Providence Gas Co., became general manager and treasurer of the Rumford Chemical Co. He was active in a variety of civic organizations in R.I. including the City Council, School Commission, Art Club and Turks Head Club. He became a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, A.A.S.R., September 15, 1914.
