Biographical / Historical
Engraved portrait of Arthur G. Pollard, 33°, honorary member of Supreme Council, A.A.S.R., Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, Massachusetts. Birth date is January 5, 1843. Death date is June 4, 1930. Pollard was very active in various Lowell, Massachusetts organizations such as the Lowell General Hospital, Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Union National Bank, Stony Brook Railroad Co., South Congregational Meeting House, Lowell Textile Institute, Old Ladies Home, Ayer Home for Little Children, Rogers Hall School, and the Lowell Young Men's Christian Association. Pollard worked his way up to ownership of the former Hosford dry goods store in Lowell, renamed A.G. Pollard Co.
