Scope and Contents
Collection (22) of Masonic, Military and Civic certificates for Richard A. Rowlands; R. A. Rowlands became Master of St. George's Lodge, No. 6, Schnectady in 1932. In 1935 he was appointed District Deputy Grand Master, New York. He became Grand Master of Masons, New York in 1950 and served 2 terms. Rowland received the 33rd Degree for Scottish Rite in 1941. As well as his Masonic career, he received several certificates for his participation World War 1 as a Captain of the Fifth U. S. Engineers dated 1917-1918. He was a member of the Shrine, Grotto, Commandery, and was a Probation Commissioner. There are certificates that reflect all of these positions.
