The correspondences discuss the popular view on Freemasonry, Masonic scholarly pursuits, selections for Maxwell’s Lodge’s Library. Maxwell mentions Bromwell told him to write Norton. Maxwell assisted Norton with research. The letters include a copy of a communication from the Grand Lodge of Colorado.

Biographical / Historical

John M. Maxwell, 1849-1927, was a lawyer in Colorado, and was a judge on the Colorado Supreme Court from 1905-1908. He became Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Colorado in 1891.
