Scope and Contents
These letters are a wealth of information, especially for anyone researching the Civil War. John E. Fisher gave great attention to his letters which give detailed information on uniforms, daily life, military exercises and first hand accounts of historic battles and events. His 13 letters date from 1861 to 1862 and are in excellent condition. There is also letter from the Massachusetts Military State Agency advising of his death. The correspondence is arranged chronologically.
