Abstract
Letter from President George Washington to Governor George Walton of Georgia. Dated August 4, 1789. In this letter, President George Washington sends a copy of the first tariff act passed by Congress, a Regulation of the Collection of Duties on Tonnage and on Merchandise, to Governor Walton.
