Non-Masonic Business Papers, 1915-1951
Scope and Contents
The records in this series are in original order. The records include correspondence, legal documents, inventories, financial transactions and tax returns, which document the personal business matters of Melvin Maynard Johnson. Files detail various trusts for which Johnson was Trustee; legal and financial dealings for his daughter, Dorothy Johnson Adams Gagel; and the estate of close friend Clara Tilton, of which Johnson and Sleeper were executors.
One Masonic file of note includes correspondence to and from Johnson at the time of his election as Sovereign Grand Commander.
