Scope and Contents
In this letter from the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Recording Grand Secretary Sereno D. Nickerson petitions Columbian Lodge, and every lodge in the state, to send money for the relief of Escambia Lodge, No. 15 (Pensacola, FL). In September 1882, a yellow fever epidemic ravaged the population of Pensacola, and Escambia Lodge, which had already spent one thousand dollars to aid its members, was seeking relief from the Fraternity.
