Scope and Contents
In this letter to Caleb Coburn, a member of Columbian Lodge, Jane Mary Lawrence asks Coburn to petition the Lodge for relief on her behalf while she awaits the passage of a pension bill in the United States House of Representatives. Lawrence’s husband, Jonathan, had been a member of the Lodge and died in 1825 of wounds sustained in the Siege of Fort Erie (1814).
