Charter of the Lodge of Perfection of the Valley of Newport, Rhode Island (later changed to Van Rensselaer Lodge of Perfection) which is dated December 14, 1849, and signed by J.J.J. Gourgas, Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. b-c: two part metal tube, dark copper color, dent in side of lid.
