Of particular interest, documentation concerning the merger of the Aurora Grata Consistory, Brooklyn, NY and the Cosmopolitan Consistory to form the Consistory of New York City (1880).

Copy of letters from Charles T. McClenachan to Edwin Knowles, Grand Master of Aurora Grata Lodge of Perfection, and Warren C. Hubbard, Grand Master Aurora Grata Council, Princes of Jerusalem (both of Brooklyn, NY) concerning charges made against Brother James S. Gillen for "alledged offenses against the Scottish Rite." Letters are copied on tissue weight paper with the blue numeral "832" printed on upper right corner.

Statement concerning adoption of Articles of Consolidation of two Consistories [A.A. Scottish Rite]: Cosmopolitan Consistory and Aurora Grata Consistory. It is accompanied by business envelope with Department of Public Works return address and with writing, "Joint Committee on Consistory." The Articles of Consolidation referred to are not attached to this note.

Summons to attend convocation of Cosmopolitan Consistory on December 16, 1875 to act on proposition to consolidate Aurora Grata Consistory and Cosmopolitan Consistory. Pencil note on verso of card: "Given to J. H. Hobart Ward by Gen'l. John A. Foster."
